Under the Bonnet

Oil leaks, worn belts, corroded battery terminals.

Listen when started

Knocking, rattling or smoke is always a red flag.

Check all electrics

Lights, windows, AC, radio and all interior controls.

Inspect the tyres

Check tread depth and look for uneven wear on all four.

Test drive it

Check steering, brakes, gears and how it pulls on the road.

Check the documents

V5C, full service history and valid MOT certificate.

Do a history check

HPI check for finance, write-offs or stolen records.
